If you’ve made it to Act 4 and bumped into The Prisoner, you’ve probably realised pretty quick that this guy isn’t just another speed bump. He’s more like a brick wall. The fight’s less about smashing buttons and more about reading him, moving smart, and knowing when to back off. You’ll spot his big chain sweep coming – he yanks that huge chain back like he’s winding up for a home run. That’s your cue to get out of the way or dash straight through him to the other side. Melee players, treat this as your “time to bail” signal. Ranged folks, you should already be at a safe distance, but make sure you’re not in the arc. After he finishes, there’s a short moment where he’s catching his breath – that’s when you slip in a few hits before pulling away again. And yeah, having some PoE 2 Currency ready for gear upgrades can make this fight a lot smoother. Another move you’ll see often is his ground slam. He lifts his weapon high, brings it down hard, and sends out a shockwave. This one’s easier to dodge – a quick sidestep or dash will keep you clear. The tricky bit is when he mixes the slam with the chain sweep, trying to catch you moving the wrong way. Don’t get tunnel vision on one attack. Keep watching his body language – it tells you exactly what’s about to happen if you pay attention. Once you chip him down to around sixty percent health, things get more tense. The Prisoner starts electrifying parts of the floor, and those zones will chew through your health if you stand in them. This is where you’ve got to be deliberate with your movement. No more running around like mad – you need to dodge attacks while keeping yourself in safe spots. Keep circling him rather than backing into a corner, and wait for those same chain sweep openings to land damage. For any build, the biggest mistake is getting greedy. You might think you can unload your whole combo, but odds are you’ll end up eating a chain or a slam. Play it like a slow dance – one or two hits, reposition, repeat. Respect the electrified zones, keep your eyes on his tells, and chip away at him bit by bit. If you stay patient and keep control of the fight, he’ll go down. And if you’re looking to prep for this kind of battle, grabbing some solid gear with path of exile 2 currency before heading in can make all the difference. Want quick Chaos or Divine Orbs?
